The Stated Meeting on March 1 will include dinner and entertainment. The menu for dinner is not corned beef and cabbage; we will be having rosemary roasted lamb, roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad with honey Dijon dressing, and dessert. The Longley Elementary School Glee Students will be performing. This is always one of my favorite entertainment events at the Lodge. Additionally, I have confirmed that the Brighter Side Singers from Temple City High School will be performing May 3 and December 6 this year.
We have initiated two new Entered Apprentices this year; welcome brothers Ediben Bilog and Steven Lu. We have had supper and cake to celebrate the initiations. The fried chicken dinner in January was very well received. We can make these meals as extravagant and large as the brethren who attend the degrees like. Come to the degrees and enjoy a good meal and some fellowship. Making new Masons is the most important thing we do as a Lodge.
Finally, I would like to point out to the brethren of Arcadia Lodge that the Southern California Research Lodge (SCRL) publishes a monthly magazine called Fraternal Review. The February issue is about Masonic Secrecy, and it contains some very interesting articles and information for Masons and non-Masons to learn more about the craft. The SCRL lists one of its main goals as increasing the amount of subscribers to Fraternal Review in order to ensure that it can continue to publish the magazine. To that end, I have included the website address for the organization in order to learn more about it, and consider subscribing to the magazine. The website is: www.TheResearchLodge.org .
