Junior Warden’s Message for the month July 2018

Greetings Brethren!

Stated Meeting (and Stated Meeting Dinner) will be on July 5. Dinner will be at 7:00 and Stated Meeting at 8:00. We will be having a delicious meal celebrating Independence Day. It will consist of a garden salad, BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, corn bread, and a special dessert. The entertainment will be provided by Worshipful Joe Ryland. Fe is the Past National President of the Sojourners, Past Chapter President of the local Chapter, and Past Commander of the Heroes of 76. He will be speaking about the National Sojourners and the Heroes of 76.
Now it’s time for Masonic Trivia. Worshipful Randy Marsh was the first to contact me with the correct answer to, “Who was the first U.S. Governor of California (he was a Mason)?” The correct answer is John D. Sloat. He was a Navy officer who quickly sailed to Monterey after the declaration of war against Mexico in 1846. The question was a little tricky because he was not the first governor of the state of California. The question for this month is: What is the common term, as taught in school, for the 47th Problem of Euclid, and what does it describe? I will buy dinner for the first brother to contact me with the correct answer after the Trestle Board has been published.
